I did my essay on fuel economy standards. Today I saw pictures of the 2010 Chevy Volt. I have been following the evolution of this car for years now. It's not as good looking as the concept but the car will drive 40 miles using only electrical charged batteries. You simply plug the car into your 110v outlet and charge it. After 40 miles the car will kick in it's fuel based motor to keep the batteries charged giving extended range. The last I heard the range was over 250 miles and it was getting high miles per gallon. The exact number escapes me.
Now that is the improvement in fuel economy that needs to take place. It will use electricity, but it's not OPEC oil. Getting off OPEC oil to me is Paramount for this country.

Why do they go out of their way to make these cars look bad? Wouldn't rather want to make people think they're cool?
LOL Good point.
I think it's a "will give you want you really want, but it's going to look like this" attitude.
Instead of having it get 40 miles on electric, just give me 37 miles but make it look sharp.
But it's proof these guys are out of touch with the general public.
Still looks aside, I'd go for it. Maybe throw some 22" chromes on it, possible some ghost flames or something. lol
