OK, I've pretty much stopped the Blog site

I don't have any more individual essays to write and I'm done with reading in the Arguments book.
  Nobody has commented anyway.

I'll keep this blog open, for the foreseeable future. Who knows, I just might need it.

Hey

Again not much going on with Eng 101.  At this time I'm waiting for the group to offer suggestions on the essay.
I suppose it just takes time to get all aboard.  We can't wait to long to get started with everyone or without everyone on board

Hello Blog

Sup?
Not much here.  Waiting to get the group essay going. Since that's about it for Eng I'm going to cut this blog entry short.
I suffered some back injury somehow and I'm taking pain, anti-inflams , and muscle relaxers.  So I'm not really up to thinking or typing  much.

   Good day Blog

Damn it!!!!

I've been forgetting to post, then when I remember there isn't the opportunity.

So, let me think where are we??  As far as Eng 101 there just isn't much going on right now.  There is a story that needs to be read and the group essay but the essay hasn't started yet.

What has been going on?  My math class is down to a couple section in a chapter, a couple quizzes on those, a couple extra credit sections, and the final.  Math should be completed for me Nov. 28th.
Just really isn't much to say other than that.  LOL  I did tell Mr. Lovin he has proven to me that I'm a shallow thinker.  lol  It must be true but I do have TONNES on my mind at this point also, maybe shallow thinking is all the room I have at this point in time.   lol

Welcome Friday, you've been missed.

Not much going on in the English 101 world today.  My English 101 goal for today is to read the next story and beat-up  on the author about something stupid said.  lol  IDK, we'll see.  There has been some good stories.
The "Aint I a woman" was good. I though it was by Digitalbrownshirt from my 1st essay when the title was read.  But I was pleasantly surprised.
The Martin Luther King speech was good.  I've said it before but the ending was like the grand finally at a fireworks show.
This may put me in jail but the Declaration of Independence didn't move me much. It just seemed like a take it to the complaint department list.  Don't get me wrong, history as it turned out is just.  IDK,  I just think don't complain, do something about it, which our forefathers did.  What would I have done if I were in that room (bar)?  Well, I suppose the list of complaints had to be put to paper, the more complaints the better.  That way you can touch everyone with something which would get more to agree and then help the cause.
Maybe I do like the D of I better than I thought, least I wont be imprisoned now.  lol

Sup?

Well I had a 4 day vacation.  Just stayed home and did some A LOT of winterizing, didn't really do any English.  Knowing that no English was going to get done this weekend I worked ahead a little.  At least made sure that I was caught up through Sun. 9th

English 101 is down to the last little bit.  I'm not embarrassed to say it's going to be missed.  The last essay took a little more effort to get started but once I did it rolled and was fun to write.
Progression  makes history, and English 101 will soon be history.

Essay 3

I finished my Homeland Security essay today.   It was fun to write and research.   It should get a good grade but we'll see.

Essay is finished

I finished my final essay yesterday it just needs some proof reading and a few others to read it for me.   It's on Homeland Security and it policy's with regard to civil rights.  I like it.  At first I was having trouble finding good info, then it all just fell together.   I think it'll be received well.

What a weekend

What a weekend here in the Lou.  Nice fall day, trees are changing, and the temperature couldn't have been any better.
I got a little done on my last essay that is due this weekend, but not near enough.  This week and this weekend I'm really going to get some work done.
My essay is leaning towards the conspiracy side of the Homeland Security issue but it isn't going so well.  Stories are way crazy or just standard blah, blah boring stuff.   We'll see, I can do something of an information thing with the stories that I've gathered.  The conspiracy thing would be fun to write and fun to read though.

OK, OK

I'm working on my essay.  I haven't picked a topic, that's the first task.  I did just read the next story in chapter 9 and made my goofball paragraph on the topic.
So anyway, back to the task at hand.  Pick a subject for my essay, maybe get a start on it.

All is good in the hood

I have a few more lil'stories to read in chapter 9 and my essay to right after that the class essay and 101 is done.

Reading assignments

The reading assignments are pretty cool, stories that I probably wouln't have read otherwise.

As far as the essay, I haven't thought about it yet.  lol  I always seem to get mine, for the most part, finished early then it just sits there.  If the essay gets posted too early it gets totally ignored.  So this time I'll wait and post a day or two before, that seems to be the norm.

This weekend

This weekend I will attempt to find what my next essay will be on and read the 3 stories assigned for this week.  It's been a rough week, I have started to fall behind some.

For my third and final essay

For my last essay,,,,,  I have no idea what I'm going to write this last essay on.  We have a choice to write on race in America or a few other topics.
Maybe tonight I figure out which to write about.  Also there is some reading that needs to be done.  That I will do between periods of the Blues game.

Essays

There have been a lot of essays turned in over the weekend.  In the nest few days I'll have to start think about my last individual essay then the class essay.

OOOOOOOPPPPPSSSSSS!!!!!!

I have missed my Wednesday entry.   There has been a lot going on this week.  Jimmy is leaving for the Air Force Monday afternoon and we are having a family and friends good-bye bon-fire this Saturday.  A lot of this week has been spent getting preped for that.

Wednesday, I did post my final version of my essay 2, so there was Eng 101 work done.  I just forgot the blog.

Here is a picture of Jimmy and myself from late August 08.  We were playing Frisbee just before this picture, we play that on occasion.  It'd be hard to tell who has a better time with the Frisbee, I'll miss that while he's gone.  I'm really going to miss him very much, we are very close.

Not much to report

Nothing much to say.  Rams won, Blues won 1st home opener in like 12 years.  My essay is complete.

That's really about all I gotz.

The essay is going great, GO BLUES!!!

I'm pretty much finished with the essay, it was easy to write I was on a role.

The Eng 101 class is fun as predicted. The arguments for and against the different topics is fun specially when different people participate. There are some smart people in that class.
Hope Eng 102 is as fun.

Well my friends, Blues home opener tonight, I be watching. Last time I was this excited about a contest was the VP debate.

Essay 2

I reread my essay, made a few changes.  There wasn't much that I changed.  There wasn't much feedback on the essay, so I'm not sure where it stands with people.
But I stand behind the essay.  It's harsh and deals with a touchy subject and there are very touchy subjects inside it.  But facts are facts, and I took it where I took it.

Do you have any idea exactly how pornography (porn) is defined?  I didn't and to be honest the definition makes me want to petition for my soul due to the images viewed while google(ing) the words "hole in one".  Didn't we all have a childhood friend who found his father's "dirty magazines" and we learned what nudity was (maybe it's a guy thing)?  So, what happened when we flipped through those pages (rhetorical)?  There is no trauma, nobody became sexually abused by those images.  Just take a look at some definitions I found on the topic.
Pornography - obscene writings, drawings, photographs, or the like, esp. those having little or no artistic merit.[1]
Obscene - offensive to morality or decency; indecent; depraved; abominable; disgusting; repulsive.[2]
With those definitions, I oddly find myself wanting to defending pornography.  My Question is who defines porn for me?  Who decides what should and shouldn't be protected under the freedom of speech?

Shouldn't words like obscene, offensive to morality, disgusting, repulsive, dirty, and other such words, shouldn't those extremely harsh words be reserved for the 4% of all priest who served in the US from 1950 to 2000 who face some sort of sexual accusation[3] along with other sexual predators?  That percent, "4%" came from the Catholic Church, the Catholic Church tends to hide such things and has an interest in keeping that percentage as low as possible. There's not much question the percentage is probably double. You see, in my mind pornography is and image, it harms no one. Some of the main critics such as religion have practiced activities that actually do harm people.
There is a song by Apocalyptica called "I'm Not Jesus".  Following are links to the lyrics and video.  http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/a/apocalyptica/im_not_jesus.html>  It's just a song, possible from the imagination of the writer, possible written by someone who had been violated by the worse of the worse sex offenders. Such as those offenders who hide behind the bible or hold political office easily gain the trust of children, and the parents of those children whom were abuse. In one single disgustingly horrible act the fictional priest takes trust, childhood, innocence, religion, God, hope, and love while replacing it with hatred, fear, and torment.
Long before there was a United States of America there was religion and religion is one of the biggest, probably original critic of pornography.  Freedom of speech, religion, and pornography are all related.

One question we were given with this topic was. Is pornography harmful to women?  Women and men in the pornography industry participate with their own free will and I assume get paid very well for there work. No, pornography does not harm women.
A stretch of that question might be. Would pornography in and of itself cause a person to perform a sex crime on another simply from the viewing of it?  Japan has the lowest sex crime rate in the industrialized world and is noted for is large output of rape fantasy pornography.[4]
The argument of pornography as a cause for crime just doesn't mix. That isn't to say that some mentally unhealthy individual might not try to live out some deranged fantasy he may have viewed in porn. The same goes for violence in movies, music, or pictures.

Is pornography offensive? That is a very simple question to answer.  Yes, absolutely.  Some think beach volleyball is offensive. There isn't anything in this world someone won't find offensive.  Luckily, there is a simple solution to this problem.  Don't participate in it.  Your opinion on what is acceptable is just that, "YOU'RE OPINION".  Assumable Japanese rape fantasy porn is something that I would find offensive, so I wont view it, it's just that simple.  However, if that type of porn is something you like to view it should be your choice.  If nobody is hurt in the making or viewing and it's all consenting adults, where is the problem?
Should porn be viewable in public areas? No, that would be impractical and nobody wants that. What about children viewing porn?  Of course not. There should be age limits just as in alcohol consumption and gambling.  However if adults choose to purchase and view such materials in the confines of their homes, who has the right to say they can not?
Look at how the sale of porn is discouraged. The following is a section of a news story when and adult store was trying to open in Fairview Heights.

St. Clair Journal. By J.W. Campbell 2006. 1 Oct 2008

City May tax X-rated Material

Attorney will research the matter before it is considered by Fairview Heights council.

An attempt to discourage the sale of X-rated material in the city of Fairview Heights will have to wait for additional legal research before it can be considered by the City Council.

Kinda makes me wonder how many if any of those council members have "dirty" magazine hidden away in their homes.

Let's take a very small glance at the behavior of some of the judges of freedom of speech.

Gay sex scandal rocks Spokane

Mayor denies he abused boys in 1970s or misused his office

Spokane Mayor Jim West, who championed an anti-gay agenda during his tenure as one of the most powerful Republicans in the Legislature, yesterday admitted to using the trappings of his current office to entice what he thought was a young adult man but denied allegations that he molested two young boys more than 20 years ago.

West confirmed to The Spokesman-Review of Spokane that he offered gifts, favors and a City Hall internship during Internet chats with a man he believed was 18. The online pen pal was actually a forensic computer expert working for the newspaper. After the story hit the newsstands yesterday, West sent city staffers a remorseful e-mail.

"I want to sincerely apologize to you personally for the shame I have brought to the Mayor's office and the city," West wrote. "I stumbled and let you down."

The accusations of child molestation stem from The Spokesman-Reviews three-year investigation and interviews with two felons who said West fondled them and forced them to perform sexual acts on him when they were Boy Scouts

This guy wants to "sincerely apologize".  Are you kidding me? This guy and all others brings to mind another controversial topic, the death sentience.  If he molested those two men when they were Boy Scouts he desires major or capital punishment.
There are literally hundreds if not thousands of these stores from the toe tapping Senator Larry Craig’s bathroom antics, to Senator Mark Foley’s sexual predatory behavior with male pages, to the 69-page document with the seal of Pope John XXIII that was sent to every bishop in the world. It instructs a policy of 'strictest' secrecy in dealing with allegations of sexual abuse and threatens to excommunication those who speak out.[5] Pope John XXIII should have been excommunication for sending that document. In my mind severely punished.
These are the groups and people who tell us that porn is acceptable or not, what is and what isn't acceptable under the freedom of speech. Personally I think my judgment on what is acceptable to me should be my choice and not what hypocritical perverts think is acceptable.  My moral judgments and theirs couldn't be further apart, thankfully.

Last note.  There are many offshoots from the subjects in my essay.  Do to limits, what was discussed is what I decided to focus on.  Only a relatively small percentage of priest and politicians are hypocritical child molesters, and possible not all porn should be allowed.  I chose to focus on hypocrites and their judgments.

Hi Blog

Hey blog,  not much to say today.  I've been typing in my eng 101 group site all morning.

I found out last week my one and only son is leaving Oct 21st for the Air Force.  We knew he was leaving, just not exactly when.  So we are going to have a bon-fire thing at the house as a going away party.
He'll be missed, of course but I'm glad to see him starting to blaze his own trail.  He told me that he will take some college while in, I hope he does.  Then after 4 years I hope he gets out with his Assoc degree and finishes his degree locally.

Well, not my choice, but I will have my opinion and he will hear it.  lol

Friday, October 3, 2008

Well, I turned in a 2nd essay draft.

No feedback on it as of yet.  That is somewhat a suprise.  No, your right, your wrong, your a lunatic, I got nothing.   Maybe that's a good thing.  lol
Then again, it was posted yesterday, the Biden/Palin showdown was lastnight.

So, I guess it's about time to start thinking about next semester.  Next semester I think that I'm taking intermediate algebra, geometry, and English 2.  Then this summer I can take Algebra/Trig. This way I can start the Calc classes.  I should and probably will take pre-calc.
If I stick to that plan my math classes will start counting towards an Engineer degree in 16 months.  I can't wait to get started.

Well, well essay 2. Light on funny, heavy on attitude.

I'm liking my essay 2.  There is a lot people slamming, opinion, and  facts.

I'm close to putting out my 1st draft. It's edgy so there will have to be a few predraft readers.

Essay 2

This is very odd.  I decided to do my essay on porn - is it, should it be protected by freedom of speech.
Quickly I find myself in the position (no pun) of protecting porn.  It only took me to read the definition of pornography to get me fired up.
Another point is; it's not a matter if porn is something that I'm personally for or against but but should it be.

It's getting pretty good.  In the essay is a slight tangent that I think is ok. Even if it's not it' getting left in, because I like the point (no pun) that it makes.

Friday, September 26, 2008

Hey Eng 101

Well, I'll start my 2nd essay tomorrow.  Originally my essay was going to be on freedom of speech concerning porn and it may still be.  However I need to consider all the topics an settle on one that I find interesting.
If I do the porn thing Larry Flint will be a large part of that. Larry, like him or hate him has stood up to the Government in the name of freedom of speech.  Not unlike that Zenger guy, with the exception of reason and motivation.
Another point that I'd like to make would be the comparison between what is viewed as harmful between sex and violence in movies and on tv.
Why is it ok to see a man get his head blown off, but Janet's 1 millisecond breast flash is taboo.

We'll see, I'll think about it more later.

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

Well, well

English 101 is picking up the pace.   We have a small story to read and start essay "Part 2 The Porn Chronicles".

I was going to get a start on all of that last night,  just didn't get to it.   My wife bought the "Sex in the city" movie last night. I didn't watch it (I'm no Clay Akins).  Not that there is anything wrong with that.  I did see a little soft porn in the movie as I was on the net working my math class.
LOL,,,  Human nature made me forget about math and watch for a second. People are animals just like any other way down deep.  People are here to continue its species, and sex is the only way that gets done. (Will, today there are different ways to get pregnant).
So, we are predisposed to be interested in sex. Just as we are to food, water, oxygen.

LOL, sorry for the sex speech, but porn is one of our choices to essay about. Sex and porn are related.

So have a lot of reading, essaying, and mathing to do this week.  I couldn't be happier.

WOW ENG 101

I'm impressed with all the essays.  There are a few left for me to read but so far I'm learning a lot.

I guess it's time to start thinking about the next essay.  Obviously I like writing in this class, so I'm looking forward to the next essay.  Honestly, I'm really looking forward to the class input essay.

Things I've learned lately

This is all related to the Government programs. This is my reasoning why Government programs such as health care have a slim chance of working. One thing I just heard and found interesting yesterday is it cost $.017 to make a $.01 (penny). It cost $.07+ to make $.05 (nickel). If you ran a business like that you wouldn't be around long. Same thing with my essay on fuel standards where I show in thirty years there has not been a major increase in mpg. This morning I heard, last night the Government has agreed to put 1 trillion dollars into buying these financial institutions that are going under. (All this while key people in those failed companies are receiving millions of dollars as parting gifts). The Government is going to print new money (inflationary) and borrow money (deficit). I'm guessing borrowing more from China. It's not free money, we are going to have to pay that back with interest. So the Government is buying these companies = the Government owns these companies = socialism. This is what Venezuela does. The reasons between the two countries are different but the results are the same. We have MAJOR problems with Entitlements Financial institutions Health Care High taxes Immigration Fuel and the Government can not properly handle these problems. I'm not doom and gloom with all of this. There are solutions. Some of us in these 1st essays have conclude problems with Gov. programs and formed some great fixes. Things are bad and they will get worse before they get better. Cold hard facts need to be realized first, we as a country don't seem to be ready to face it yet. At some point we will have to stop throwing money at problems and actually roll up our sleeves and fix things. Or, like I've said, someday possible the Government might come to the conclusion if they direct everyones money we'll be a better country. Turning us into a full blown socialist country. IDK So, No I don't think that the Government should be helping people the way it does today. We are much better off if it doesn't.

Essay

I'm thinking that my essay is about completed.  Really should my 1000 word essay get any more bloated than it already is?

Know what Blogosphere?  It just hit me, my essay has not been posted on my blog site. Well let me treat you to the tasty morsel that is my essay.  I hope you enjoy reading it as much  as I enjoyed writing it. And so without further ado, I humbly present to you my essay 1.

A Closer Look: Government Mandated Fuel Standards

The Government mandated fuel standards topic was chosen to give you, the viewing public an informative view on the subject. Perhaps offer insight on the topic, expose reasons why it exists, and look at why fuel standards are an issue in a free society. Meaning if one wants to spend $1000.00 for fuel getting 2 mpg pulling ones boat across the country with a Hummer, "tenement on wheels" model, that's ones choice, right?  So then, what about this fuel standards law?

The actual law can be found under US CODE: Title 49 U.S. Code, Chapter 329 - Automotive Fuel Economy:  The law is encompassed by the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA) bill signed into law by President Gerald Ford on December 22, 1975.

Who is this all powerful, almighty overseer of fuel efficiency that mandates the mpg my vehicle is capable of achieving?  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration set (NHTSA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) were the branches of Government charged with this endeavor.

Efficiency mandate for passenger cars today is 27.5 mpg while the standard for light trucks today is 22.2mpg [1]. The original standards were 18 mpg for cars and (17.2 mpg for 2-wheel drive models; 15.8 mpg for 4-wheel drive) for light trucks up to 6,000 pounds.

The law these two fine branches conceived was proudly named "Corporate Average Fuel Economy" (CAFE) [2].  This law was first enacted by Congress in 1975 with the purpose of reducing energy consumption by way of increasing fuel economy of cars and light trucks in the wake of the 1973 Arab Oil Embargo. It was intended to improve the average fuel economy of cars and light trucks.

Can you guess what the average mph was for a, let's say a 1976 Ford F150? Compare that to the 16 mpg an F150 from 2006 is rated at.  We well compare the mpg of a modern Ford truck in comparison to a Ford truck of yesteryear.

The best information gathered on the mpg for a 1976 F150 is as follows.

digitalbrownshirt. Blog page. 17 February 2007

Mine was cream and brown. It had a 390 and

a C-6 tranny. The old girl needed a little restoration,

but I really didn't have the time or space to do it. It was

probably one  of the prettiest "stock" '76 F-150's I've

ever seen and it ran great. It also only got about 10 miles

                 per gallon.

The blog owners name "digital brown shirts" leads to the assumption he is a UPS employee and knows trucks, which would make him a creditable source. Or he might have relation to Larry the Cable Guy, there-by making him totally unreliable and a little scary. To make an assumption about our new friend, the ''C-6 tranny'' mentioned is probably a reference to the transmission, and not some personal issue digital brown shirt might be struggling with. Also 10mpg is assumable the average mpg, absent was information as to if the vehicle was hauling manure of any sort.

How did fuel efficiency standard come into existence?  The NHTSA and the EPA were tasked by Congress to conceive a fuel efficiency law.  On a cold wintry day in Washington DC., in the year of 1975 Congress accepted the two branches offspring and introduced the CAFE law into existence.  The two groups were given four simple yet profound guidelines to adhere too, and those I am now honored to resent to you.

                             (1) Technological feasibility;

                             (2) Economic practicability;

                             (3) Effect of other standards on fuel economy; and

                             (4) Need of the nation to conserve energy [3]

With those 4 guidelines, 19 words, 4 numbers, and various punctuation history was made.

Why? Why was efficiency in fuel even questioned?  Well that my friends has to do with our oil cartel brethren from Southwest Asia.  The following is a brief history on the "1973 Arab Oil Embargo" The 1973 oil crisis began on October 17, 1973, when the members of Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting (OAPEC(OPEC plus Egypt and Syria) announced, as a result of the on going Yom Kippur War, that they would no longer ship oil to nations that had supported Israel in its conflict with SyriaEgypt, and Iraq. Those nations were the United States, its allies in Western Europeand Japan [3].

Now 35 years later, I'm sure OAPEC regrets they embargoed the United States and it's allies and certainly suffers from our Government mandated fuel standards even today. I say with sarcasm.

Final question. In a free society why fuel standards?  This is because congress felt it would make us as a nation less dependent on foreign oil, there by leaving the United States less vulnerable to castration by the foreign oil cartel and the countries that belong to it. That's it! That is what fuel efficiency standards where all about when initiated.

Today in addition to reasoning our forefathers had for introducing fuel efficiency mandates there another major problem that efficiency laws could help solve, the American economy.

There are many things that are going on with vehicles, fuel economy, Governments, auto manufacturers, and consumers.  The more I think about it, the more I realize about it, and the more complex it gets. We have governments that make behind the scene deals to keep oil at a specific levels. We have auto maker lobbyist who want to sell us hugh gas guzzlers (they make more money on Hummers than they do a Ford Focus).  We have Americans who have always wanted the fashion statement of the bigger vehicles but are now starting to shift to better gas mileage vehicles. Maybe we do need the Government to stand in with economy standards to save us from foreign dependency, ourselves, and the auto manufacturers .  However we need REAL standards that make REAL gains.

Lastly. We are not going to be made safe by way of digital brown shirt's "pretty tranny" 10 mpg fuel economy or today's 2009 HUMMER H3 SUV ALPHA'S 13/16 mpg [4].  Over a 35-year time span that is simply not good enough.  We do need to cut foreign dependence on oil, no question. OPEC has the United States over a barrel, pun intended. The United States needs to use technology and produce technology to get away from fossil fuels all together.  That is simple fact.

I had a joke.

Let me get the important stuff out of the way.

I'm working on my second draft for the essay.  It's not feeling right.  Is it possible that once you have completed and essay it's hard to go back after a couple of weeks and add to it?  Maybe that's the lesson. IDK

I had a joke about Obama and Palin and the Hurricane in the Midwest but I'm afraid that some might not have learned to laugh yet so that will be left off.

Oh well, other than that not much else to say.  There are many things taking my attention away from my classes.  I am not happy with that at all.  Once you get off track its hard to get back on.  Guess the thing to do is hang in there till you can get back to where you need to be.

Busy week, busy wekend

I have had an unusually busy week and this weekend is going to be the same.  I'm currently taking two college courses and usually work very hard those.  This week has made for some neglect in my mind.  Not total disregard but no where near the effort that I like to give.
So this will possible be the last blog till Monday.  Rewriting my essay is most important at this point and needs to be worked on despite going out of town for the weekend.  It simple needs to be done.
Actually the next couple weeks are going to be a little hectic, ah well.  Who needs sleep right.  lol

9/11

 Wow, 7  years ago.

In my office I had a tv, I listen/watched Good Morning America and then The View.  lol I got like 2 channels.  It was The View or Mattlock.  So I'm not gay. Not that there is anything wrong with it.
Then the breaking news, a plane hit the WTC. I'm thinking some goofball crashed his private plane into the WTC.  While watching the live feed, from the right comes into screen, a passenger jet it merges into the other WTC with a huge fireball.   WTF!!!!!!
Then news comes of the Pentagon being struck. Now this is get totally surreal, then news of another plane hijacked that creates a 30ft deep crater in Shanksville, PA
The scene of Bush in the classroom getting the information, haunting. I'll never forget the expression on his face. It was THE EXACT expression I'd had in the same situation. Actually, now that I think about it.  There are many images that have implanted themselves in my memory from that day and the events that followed as a result.

What a strange time?  Then the Taliban in Afghanistan.  HMMM didn't we all kinda lose some innocents? If that's the word I'm looking for.  Blissful ignorance maybe.
Anyway, things all of a sudden got a little more serious 7 years ago.

Chevy Volt

I did my essay on fuel economy standards. Today I saw pictures of the 2010 Chevy Volt. I have been following the evolution of this car for years now. It's not as good looking as the concept but the car will drive 40 miles using only electrical charged batteries. You simply plug the car into your 110v outlet and charge it. After 40 miles the car will kick in it's fuel based motor to keep the batteries charged giving extended range. The last I heard the range was over 250 miles and it was getting high miles per gallon. The exact number escapes me.
Now that is the improvement in fuel economy that needs to take place. It will use electricity, but it's not OPEC oil. Getting off OPEC oil to me is Paramount for this country.

Essay 1

I guess my essay is good.  There has not been many responses.  The only thing that I know needs to be done is take all the double spaces out.  Other than that, the Rams suck already.

I need an entry for today

You may have read in my intro at the beginning of Eng 101.  I have a "the good child" to refresh she started 4th grade the same day my intro was made.
Well, that demon spawn gave me a cold.  She has been at school some 2 weeks, and already bought the cold bug home for daddy.
My brain is completely fried, I can hardly put two words to gether.  lol

My essay posted for class review has had some very good ideas as to direction that could have taken.  Thank you.  If my brain comes back to me, I'll look into those advises a little harder.

This week has been very interesting politically.  O'Rielly with Obama, Palin, McCain. Usually I don't get into all that political stuff. But now that Shawn Johnson and my personal favorite Alicia Sacramone are back home there is a void.  Oh don't let me forget about that swimmer guy (phil, phills, philly, felps, or whatever his name is) he did something good or something too.

Bravo Jerry Seinfield bravo

I did it 3 days 24 hour Seinfeld. There were naps during commercial breaks. Isn't it a great feeling when you've accomplish something when you doubted your capabilities.
Which reminds me, English essay. At work right now things are a little slow. There is 30 minutes before I need to get started at and I should be able to grap 10-15 minutes here and there. With that here and there time, lunch break, and work breaks this project is getting started. Damn it, the work gets started RIGHT HERE!!!!! RIGHT NOW!!!.........
MMMMM Sales dude brought donuts. Are those donuts centers?

Hey gotsta go, work related issues.

All kidding aside. I did get my first essay near completion Saturday. It literally took me all day with few breaks but it did get pretty far along. The essay has all the factual information that should be in an essay. There are a great many typos, punctuations, and format problems that need work. Basically it's complete though.

Today is serious Englishing day.

I am not leaving this chair or this computer till I have some major progress completed on my essay.

Hold that thought. A Seinfield rerun just came on. That freaken Cramer cracks me up. Have you seen they episode where Cramer is lost and on 1st and 1st. He asks Jerry, "How can a street intersect itself?" Then he exclaims, " I must be at the nexus of the universe."
That's some good stuff.

HEY!!!!!, it's a Seinfield Memorial weekend 3 days , 24 hour, marathon. I'll have to catch up with you all Tuesday maybe, I might be sleeping.

Have a great weekend. I know I will.

Essay 1, And the problems begin.

I'm having some trouble finding the information that I would want for my essay. Actually, have problems with the set-up, information, ideas, and everything. It is early though.

This summer I took an ECON class. We tested weekly, I took mine on Thursday nights. On Wednesday night and a few times as late as minutes before the test I knew, "this test is going to be a failure". I thought that every before every test.
I never received less than a 85% that was only once. All other test were above 90% and with extra credit I received an A for the class which exempted me from the final.

The reason I told that story is this essay and every other essay will probable be the same way. So, I guess it's fine to worry about how you're going to do. Just don't let it stop you from trying at all.

I'm not an inspiration speaker in real life, I only play one in the blogosphere. lol

First writing assignment

Tonight I'm going to start thinking about which argument is interesting enough for me to write about.  It's going to take major effort to find something abstract enough to play with.

The main goal tonight is set-up a Google Document thingy-ma-bob account.  This way information can be added and edited from any computer at any location or even from my cell phone.  That is, if I have a good understanding of how this new mysterious dark magic Google thing works.
There isn't going to be much accomplished tonight, hell I just used up half my allotted time typing this blog.  lol
